Zelena točka Trans (Green Point) is a dynamic distribution center based in Pomurje, Slovenia, specializing in the operation of a short food supply chain (SFSC) network that delivers local, fresh, and healthy food to a wide range of consumers—including households, public institutions (schools, kindergartens, hospitals), and the HORECA sector.
Established in 2018, this SME was created with a clear mission: to connect local farmers directly with end-consumers, ensuring transparent, fair, and sustainable access to local produce. Since then, Green Point has grown into a regional leader in sustainable food distribution, embracing the Living Lab model to pilot and implement innovative technologies and business practices relevant to smart villages and rural development.

One of Green Point’s key innovation pillars is the demonstration of a blockchain-based traceability system, developed and delivered by ITC – Innovation Technology Cluster Murska Sobota, in collaboration with DIH AGRIFOOD and the University of Maribor – Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. This system is working in real-life short food supply chains, offering a new level of trust, transparency, and traceability for both producers and consumers.

As an active partner in the TRUSTFOOD project, Green Point has further strengthened its innovation potential by participating in specialized blockchain training courses.
The TRUSTFOOD training has enabled Green Point’s team to gain advanced digital skills, empowering them to better understand and implement blockchain solutions within their daily operations. This upskilling ensures that Green Point remains at the forefront of digital transformation in the food supply chain, supporting its long-term mission of promoting safe, local, and transparent food systems.
Through its continuous commitment to innovation, sustainability, and education, Green Point exemplifies how small businesses in rural areas can leverage emerging technologies to build resilient, smart, and community-centered food ecosystems.
