As part of the TRUSTFOOD initiative, a paper titled “Blockchain-based Traceability Solutions in Fisheries: Insights from Greece” was accepted for presentation at the Inaugural International Conference Circular Economy: The Pathway Towards a Sustainable Development. The conference will take place in Chania, Greece, from September 11 to 13, 2024.

The paper, authored by professors Karetsos, Demestichas, Costopoulou, and Pantelis, focuses on how blockchain technology can enhance traceability in the fisheries sector, offering insights based on case studies from Greece. The research highlights the potential of blockchain to support sustainable fishing practices by ensuring transparency and traceability throughout the supply chain.
