TRUSTFOOD in the G C School of Careers in Nicosia!

On March 29th, 2024, the University of Nicosia had the privilege of introducing the TRUSTFOOD project at the esteemed G C School of Careers in Nicosia. This visit was part of the project’s broader effort to engage and inspire young minds about the latest innovations in agrifood technologies and the crucial role of blockchain in enhancing supply chain transparency.

The presentation provided an in-depth look at the TRUSTFOOD project’s goals and activities, igniting an enthusiastic dialogue among the attendees. Students and faculty members alike were captivated by the insights shared. For many students, this marked their first exposure to blockchain applications within the agrifood sector, offering a fresh perspective on how technology can revolutionize food systems. Those already acquainted with the topic contributed their knowledge, leading to a dynamic and informative exchange of ideas. The event was characterized by a strong sense of curiosity and engagement, underscoring the students’ keen interest in exploring and contributing to the future of sustainable agrifood technologies.

Wikifarmer is a comprehensive online platform aimed at providing farmers and agricultural enthusiasts with valuable information, tools, and resources to support sustainable farming practices. It offers a wide range of content, including how-to guides, articles on various farming techniques, best practices, and tips for improving agricultural productivity.

The platform is designed to be user-friendly and accessible, with the goal of helping farmers at different levels of experience—from beginners to experts—enhance their knowledge and skills. Wikifarmer covers a variety of topics such as crop management, livestock care, soil health, and farm equipment.

In addition to educational content, Wikifarmer often includes forums or community features where users can exchange ideas, ask questions, and share experiences. This collaborative aspect helps foster a sense of community and support among users.

TRUSTFOOD in the 3rd Technical School of Athens!

On March 22nd, 2024, the Smart Agro Hub proudly presented the TRUSTFOOD project at the distinguished 3rd Technical School of Athens. This visit was part of a series aimed at educating and inspiring students about cutting-edge agrifood technologies and the transformative role of blockchain in ensuring transparency within supply chains.

The presentation captivated the audience as it detailed the TRUSTFOOD project’s objectives and activities. It sparked a stimulating discussion among attendees, which included both students and faculty members. For many students, this was their first introduction to blockchain applications in the agrifood sector, opening new avenues for understanding and innovation. Those who were already familiar with the technology engaged in a productive exchange of ideas, contributing to a rich dialogue that highlighted the potential for technological advancements in sustainable food systems. The event was marked by a strong sense of curiosity and engagement, reflecting the students’ eagerness to explore and contribute to the future of agrifood technology.

On March 15th, 2024, the Smart Agro Hub had the distinct pleasure of showcasing the TRUSTFOOD project at the renowned 2nd Technical Evening School of Piraeus. This engaging visit was part of the project’s initiative to ignite enthusiasm and deepen understanding of advanced agrifood technologies and the pivotal role of blockchain in ensuring transparency within supply chains.

During the event, the presentation illuminated the TRUSTFOOD project’s goals and initiatives, which sparked a vibrant and thought-provoking discussion. Both students and faculty members were highly receptive to the content. For many students, it was their first encounter with blockchain applications in the agrifood sector, which provided a fresh perspective on the potential for technological innovation in food systems. Meanwhile, others with prior knowledge contributed valuable insights, fostering a rich dialogue that enhanced the overall learning experience. The exchange of ideas was dynamic and impactful, reflecting the growing interest and engagement with sustainable food practices among the next generation of professionals.

TRUSTFOOD in Agriskills event!

Smart Agro Hub presented TRUSTFOOD during the Agriskills meeting entitled “Strengthening Digital and Business Skills for the Digital Transformation of Agriculture” which was held on March 13th, 2024 in Athens, Greece. 

Agriskills is an Erasmus+ project, that started in January 2022. Its focus is to Identify skills gaps in digital agriculture, business development, and financing, to develop a multilingual training course for farmers, agribusinesses, and other stakeholders, to build the AgriSkills 4.0 e-Learning Platform and mobile app for self-paced, blended learning and open online courses, and to collect good practices and describe use cases and initiatives in the field of digital technologies, relevant skills and competences. 

 TRUSTFOOD shares a significant synergy with AgriSkills, as they both focus on leveraging digital technologies to advance agricultural practices and improve food supply chains. 

Since AgriSkills courses are already available and the project has established significant expertise, TRUSTFOOD could benefit from valuable feedback provided by the AgriSkills consortium regarding the training courses TRUSTFOOD is currently developing. 

TRUSTFOOD in You.Stand.Out!

On February 2nd, 2024, the vibrant city of Patras, Greece, played host to a significant event as part of the ERASMUS+ project, “You.Stand.Out. YOUng people STANDing OUT through the promotion of local heritage in rural areas.” The Multiplier Event, held at the esteemed Rezos Brands premises, provided a dynamic platform for sharing innovative ideas and initiatives.

At the heart of the event was an engaging presentation on the TRUSTFOOD project, which captivated an audience of 20 attendees present on-site and 41 participants joining remotely. The project manager delivered an insightful overview, highlighting the project’s ambitious goals and its cutting-edge training programs in advanced digital skills. Attendees were encouraged to delve deeper into the project’s offerings and resources by exploring the TRUSTFOOD website, thereby gaining a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities available for enhancing their digital expertise.

In the context of TRUSTFOOD, several school visits will be organized to engage and inspire the youth. These visits aim to foster a deeper understanding of innovative agrifood technologies and the role of blockchain in enhancing supply chain transparency, encouraging students to explore and contribute to the future of sustainable food systems.

Both students and professors showed great interest, with some students encountering blockchain applications in the agrifood supply chain for the first time, while others were already knowledgeable. This led to a lively and informative exchange of ideas among all attendees.
