TRUSTFOOD in Digital Europe Projects Meeting!

Our Project Coordinator Rezos Brands SA-European R&D Department represented our project at the Digital Europe Programme projects meeting in Brussels on October 24th, 2023.
The event was a dynamic blend of Workshops, Roundtables, and Networking, providing invaluable insights into the digital landscape. A special highlight was the firsthand information shared by the esteemed European Commission staff, shedding light on the Digital Europe call data.

During the meeting, TRUSTFOOD’s coordinator had the opportunity to meet relevant projects with which TRUSTFOOD can create synergies and organise clustering activities. One of these projects is the DIS4SME project, which aims to deliver high-quality specialised training courses focused on location data interoperability in different areas.

TRUSTFOOD in Agri Innovation Expo 2023

Smart Agro Hub, Communication and Dissemination leader of TRUSTFOOD, was an active participant at the Agri Innovation Expo 2023 held at the Agricultural University of Athens from September 21st to September 23rd, 2023. During the grand opening ceremony of the exhibition TRUSTFOOD project was introduced!
Over this dynamic three-day event, we had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with a wide range of stakeholders from the agri-food industry. We also collaborated with senior researchers from the Agricultural University of Athens and prestigious European institutions, established connections with representatives from Greek authorities, and exchanged valuable insights with the workforce from various SMEs.

The aim of Agri Innovation expo was to promote innovative research results that have a significant impact on research, the economy, society and the environment.

Who is the Agri Innovation expo aimed at?

-Students and researchers, to get to know the innovative products and services of the GPA.
-Companies interested in developing innovative products and services, to get to know and collaborate with the university’s research teams.
-Organisations interested in implementing the services and products developed, to discuss possible synergies
-Investors and representatives of venture, investment and technology funds wishing to finance mature research results, to discover the commercial relevance of the GERD’s research results
-General public to get to know a different ‘green’ university

TRUSTFOOD Project Shines at International Beyond Expo

The TRUSTFOOD project recently had the honor of being showcased at the prestigious International Beyond Expo. This gathering of forward-thinkers and innovators provided an ideal platform for the project to share its insights and developments with a global audience. Throughout the conference, participants had the privilege of engaging in presentations, panel discussions, and workshops. The event took place in Thessaloniki from May 24th to May 26th, 2023.

One of the standout moments of the International Beyond Expo was Thanos Karvounis’ seminar titled “Unlocking Horizon Europe.” As an expert in Innovation Grant Applications of the Smart Agro Hub, Thanos brought his wealth of knowledge and experience to the forefront. In this seminar, he shed light on the TRUSTFOOD project’s innovative approaches and its alignment with the Horizon Europe framework.

Horizon Europe is the European Union’s flagship research and innovation program aimed at driving sustainable growth and global competitiveness. Being able to present the TRUSTFOOD project in this context highlights its significance as a pioneering initiative that is not only groundbreaking but also well-aligned with the European Union’s objectives.

In addition to Thanos Karvounis’ insightful presentation, the Smart Agro Hub team played a crucial role in the success of the TRUSTFOOD showcase at the International Beyond Expo. They were present at a dedicated booth, where attendees had the invaluable opportunity to engage with the project’s dissemination experts.

This engagement allowed visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the TRUSTFOOD project and its objectives. Attendees were able to explore the intricacies of the project, its innovative solutions, and how it’s contributing to the advancement of agriculture, food safety, and sustainability.

TRUSTFOOD’s Prominent Presence at Data Space Symposium 2023

The TRUSTFOOD project, funded by Digital Europe, had a notable presence at the “Data Spaces Symposium & Deep-Dive Day” from March 21st to March 23rd, 2023. 482.solutions briefly presented TRUSTFOOD at this gathering of leading data-sharing initiatives. The event, organised in partnership with key players like the International Data Spaces Association, highlighted TRUSTFOOD’s commitment to innovation in the dynamic digital landscape.

TRUSTFOOD’s participation in the symposium reaffirms its relevance and dedication to advancing digital technologies and blockchain. With strong support from industry leaders, TRUSTFOOD is poised to drive positive change in the digital ecosystem, ultimately contributing to advancements in the European blockchain labor force.

TrustFood Project Highlighted at the 5th VERDE.TEC FORUM 2023

The TRUSTFOOD project took center stage at the 5th VERDE.TEC FORUM 2023 in Athens, featuring a presentation by Smart Agro Hub. Smart Agro Hub discussed how the competence center contributes to the digital transformation of Greek agriculture, with a special focus on the TRUSTFOOD project and its role in Advanced Digital Skills on Blockchain for Trusted Food Supply Chains. The event took place from March 17th to March 19th, 2023.

The event provided a valuable platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange among experts, industry leaders, and agriculture stakeholders. TrustFood’s participation reinforced its role in advancing the digital transformation and promoting trusted food supply chains.

TRUSTFOOD in “Funding, Networking and Technology Transfer Opportunities for Mature Research Groups of the Agricultural University”

Smart Agro Hub had the chance to present our Digital Europe-funded project TrustFood at the “Funding, Networking and Technology Transfer Opportunities for Mature Research Groups of the Agricultural University” organized by the National Documentation Centre in collaboration with the Agricultural University of Athens on February 13th, 2024.

The event focused on the services provided by the National Documentation Center and the Agricultural University of Athens to young researchers, spinoffs and startups, while presentations were given by the Agricultural University of Athens technologists.

Specifically from the National Documentation Center, Dr Nikos Karampekios, Head of the Innovation and Networking Unit, and Angelos Angelidis, Coordinator Enterprise Europe Network-Hellas, presented NDC’s services to the research, academic and business community in the country, while George Megas, Principal National Contact Point for Horizon Europe and coordinator of the EITHealth Hub, Dr Sofia Xesfingi, Varvara Vasilaki and Marios Roides, National Contact Points for Horizon Europe, presentED funding opportunities through the clusters of the Horizon EU.

TRUSTFOOD Project Kicks Off in Patra, Greece

The TRUSTFOOD project recently commenced its three-year journey with a highly productive kickoff meeting in Patras, Greece. This meeting laid the foundation for a promising EU-funded project that is set to address vital challenges in the food supply chain security and trustworthiness sectors. The significance of this event can be summarized in a few key points.

Foundation Building: The Patras meeting allowed project partners to plan, strategize, and establish a clear roadmap for the project’s future. It marked a crucial phase in aligning visions and defining strategies.

Relationship Strengthening: Face-to-face interactions during the kickoff meeting facilitated relationship building among project partners, fostering trust and unity. These relationships will play a pivotal role in the project’s success.

EU-Funded Promise: TRUSTFOOD’s EU funding highlights its potential and the importance of its mission in enhancing the security and transparency of food supply chains.

With a strong start, TRUSTFOOD is set to make substantial contributions to the food supply chain’s security and trustworthiness by upskilling the labour force, addressing contemporary European and global needs. The project’s success is now eagerly anticipated as it continues its journey to revolutionize the field.
